I ventured up to Chung Uk Tsuen in Lam Tsuen to record Wai's sessions. We recorded all three in his apartment and a nearby river. Wai is a psychotherapist using sound to help people physically and mentally. He has a small collection of bowls and a shruti box. His approach to sessions are more healing rather than relaxing playing slow and intentional, every movement a way for a person to let their emotions come to the surface. I have found that a healing approach to sessions are more precise and minimal- 'prescribed', whereas a relaxing session are more layered and sweet. Both are very engaging and can be interchanged but I feel more experience is needed for a clear definition.
Sound Baths out soon.
